AUSLOCK External Handle Has Lost Resistance (Loose / Free-Spinning Fix)

Sabit Esati |

Most common cause

A handle that loses resistance is usually a set screw or spindle engagement issue.

Fix steps

  1. Keep the door open.
  2. Locate the handle set screw (often underside/side of the lever).
  3. Tighten firmly (don’t overtighten).
  4. If it loosens again, add a tiny amount of medium threadlocker and re-tighten.
  5. Check the spindle is fully inserted and aligned.

If it still free-spins

  • Spindle length may be incorrect
  • Internal mounting screws may be loose
  • Handle orientation/handing may need adjustment
