Set a 4-Digit PIN on AUSLOCK (Instead of a Long Auto-Generated Code)

Many customers prefer a simple 4-digit PIN. Whether 4 digits is allowed depends on your lock settings and the passcode type you create.

Step-by-step: Create a custom 4-digit PIN

  1. Open the AUSLOCK App and select your lock.
  2. Go to PasscodesAdd Passcode.
  3. Choose a passcode type that allows Custom/Manual entry (not “Auto-generated”).
  4. Enter your 4-digit PIN and save.
  5. Wait for the app to confirm the PIN has synced.

If the app forces a longer PIN

  • Try a different passcode type (e.g., “Custom” vs “Generated”).
  • Check for minimum-length settings inside lock/app settings.

Security tip

Avoid common PINs like 1234, 0000, or birthdays. For staff/rentals, use one PIN per person so you can revoke access cleanly.
