AUSLOCK Auto-Lock (Set the Locking Delay + Manual Lock Options)
Auto-Lock is a feature that automatically locks your AUSLOCK after the door has been opened, using a time delay you choose. It’s one of the best settings to enable if you want the door to lock itself without relying on anyone to remember.
How Auto-Lock works
- When Auto-Lock is ON, your door will automatically lock after it has been opened, once the delay timer finishes. (Example: 5–10 seconds.)
- When Auto-Lock is OFF, you must lock the door manually using the app or keypad method (see below).
How to enable Auto-Lock
- Open the AUSLOCK-supported app (TTLock ecosystem).
- Select your lock.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Auto-Lock.
- Switch Auto-Lock ON.
How to change the Auto-Lock delay time
Most AUSLOCK models allow you to set the time delay (for example 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, etc.).
- Open the lock in the app → Settings.
- Tap Auto-Lock.
- Adjust the delay time to your preferred setting.
- Save/confirm.
Tip: If you don’t see the delay option, your lock model/app version may show it as a slider or a “seconds” field.
If Auto-Lock is OFF: how to lock manually
If you prefer Auto-Lock OFF, you can still lock the door in two common ways:
- From the app: open your lock and tap the lock button (or press/hold the main padlock icon depending on your app screen).
- From the keypad: press and hold the # key to lock (model dependent).
Auto-Lock vs Passage Mode (don’t confuse these)
- Auto-Lock: door locks itself after a delay.
- Passage Mode: door stays unlocked continuously until you turn it off or the schedule ends.
Troubleshooting
- Auto-Lock not working: confirm Auto-Lock is ON and test the door open/close cycle fully. Auto-Lock typically triggers after the door has been opened.
- Door locks too fast: increase the delay time so you can close the door comfortably before it locks.
- Door doesn’t latch properly: adjust strike plate alignment or door closure—Auto-Lock can’t secure a door that isn’t closing correctly.
- Lock keeps locking even when Auto-Lock is OFF: if a door sensor is installed/configured, it can trigger locking when the door closes (sensor behaviour varies by setup).
