Connect AUSLOCK to Amazon Alexa (Voice Unlock Setup Guide)

Connect AUSLOCK to Amazon Alexa (Amazon Echo Voice Control)

You can connect AUSLOCK smart locks to Amazon Alexa so you can lock (and in some cases unlock) using voice commands. This integration uses the same ecosystem as TTLock, so you will typically enable the TTLock skill inside the Alexa app.

What you need before you start

  • Your AUSLOCK lock is set up and working in the AUSLOCK-supported app (TTLock ecosystem).
  • A compatible Wi-Fi Gateway is installed and online (recommended/usually required for voice control).
  • Remote Unlock is enabled for the lock in the app (required for remote/voice workflows).
  • Amazon Alexa app installed + an Echo device set up.
Important: Alexa “unlock” features may require extra security steps (voice code + Amazon password) and may vary by region/device settings.

Step 1 — Confirm the Wi-Fi Gateway is working

Before Alexa, make sure you can control the lock remotely (not just Bluetooth). If you haven’t set up the gateway yet, do that first (2.4GHz Wi-Fi is standard for gateways).

Step 2 — Enable Remote Unlock in the AUSLOCK App

  1. Open the AUSLOCK-supported app.
  2. Select your lock.
  3. Go to SettingsRemote Unlock.
  4. Tap Turn On.

Remote Unlock is required for the Alexa workflow in the official setup guide.

Step 3 — Enable the TTLock skill in the Alexa app

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Go to MoreSkills & Games.
  3. Search for TTLock and tap Enable.
  4. Sign in using the same AUSLOCK-supported app account you use to manage the lock.
  5. Run Discover Devices (or wait for Alexa to discover locks automatically).
Tip: If your AUSLOCK-supported app account uses a phone number login, include your country code (example: +61…).

Step 4 — Turn on “Unlock by voice” (voice code setup)

For security, Alexa typically requires a voice code and your Amazon password before voice unlock can be used.

  1. In the Alexa app, go to Devices.
  2. Tap Locks.
  3. Select your lock (example: “Front Door”).
  4. Tap the Settings icon.
  5. Enable Unlock by voice.
  6. Create your voice code and enter your Amazon account password when prompted.

Try these voice commands

  • “Alexa, lock the front door.”
  • “Alexa, unlock the front door.” (may request your voice code)
  • “Alexa, is the front door locked?”

Troubleshooting (fast fixes)

  • Lock not discovered: confirm gateway is online, Remote Unlock is ON, and run “Discover Devices” again.
  • Can’t enable voice unlock: check you’re signed into the correct Amazon account and set a voice code.
  • Commands inconsistent: rename the lock to a simple name (Front Door / Office Door) and avoid duplicates.
  • Still not working: disable the TTLock skill, re-enable it, then re-discover devices.
