If your door opens from outside too easily, the lock may not be engaging correctly.
This is commonly caused by incorrect handing/clutch configuration or an installation setup that allows free-turning.
Fix steps
- Confirm the lock is powered and operating normally (fresh batteries).
- Test with the door open: does the latch/deadbolt extend properly?
- Check your handing/left-right setting (if supported) and re-calibrate.
- Confirm the spindle and handle are installed in the correct orientation.
- Check strike alignment so the lock fully engages when closed.
If it’s still opening incorrectly
- Do not rely on the lock until corrected.
- Send AUSLOCK Support a short video of the outside handle behaviour.
