Fast fix checklist (rental-friendly)
If guests are having trouble unlocking, fix it in this order. Most issues are solved in under 5 minutes.
1) Confirm the access method
- PIN code: confirm it’s correct, active, and within the time window (if scheduled).
- Fingerprint: try a PIN fallback (fingerprints can fail with wet/dry skin).
- Card/Fob: confirm it’s enrolled on that exact lock.
2) Check for lockout (too many wrong attempts)
If the keypad disabled after multiple incorrect attempts, wait for the lockout period and try again using the correct method.
3) Battery + power check
- If keypad is dim / slow to wake, replace batteries as a full set.
- For remote access, confirm your Wi-Fi gateway is powered and online.
4) Door alignment check
If the app says “unlock” but the door won’t open, the latch may be binding on the strike. Ask the guest to gently pull/push the door while unlocking.
5) Emergency access plan
- Use your backup method (admin app / emergency key / secondary access) where available.
- If urgent, send support a video of the lock behaviour + door edge.
