Restrict Access for Non-Admin Users (AUSLOCK)

Want to share access without giving full control? AUSLOCK lets you add users with restricted permissions so they can unlock/lock but not change important settings.

Admin vs User (quick guide)

  • Admin/Owner: can change settings, manage users/codes, and configure remote features.
  • User: can unlock/lock (and sometimes view activity), but can’t change core settings.

Step-by-step: Add a restricted user

  1. Open the AUSLOCK App and select your lock.
  2. Go to Users / eKeys / Sharing (wording may vary).
  3. Tap Add → choose the share method (invite link / eKey / app user).
  4. Select a restricted role (not Admin/Owner).
  5. Set an expiry date/time if it’s temporary access (cleaners/contractors).

Extra control options (recommended)

  • Time windows: allow access only on certain days/hours.
  • Expiry: automatically removes access after a set date.

If you can’t see roles

Some app versions label this differently (e.g., “Authorized user” vs “Admin”). Create a test user and confirm they cannot change settings.

Need help? Use our compatibility check and include your lock model + what you want the user to access.
