Deadbolt retrofit You already have (or want) a separate deadbolt above the handle. Common on many homes.
Handle + latch retrofit Replacing an existing lever/handle lock with a smart handle lock (latch style).
Mortice lock (in the door edge) The lock body is inside the door edge. Common on some timber doors and higher-end entry doors.
New install / no lock yet New door or blank door. You’re happy to drill/cut as needed for best fitment.
