How to Check AUSLOCK Alignment (Stop Binding, Failed Locks & Battery Drain)

Mergim Hoxha |

Why alignment matters

If the latch/deadbolt rubs the strike plate, the lock strains, fails, or drains batteries quickly.

Alignment check (fast)

  1. With door open, lock/unlock 5 times (should be smooth).
  2. Close door gently and lock/unlock again.
  3. If it fails closed but works open: the strike plate position is off.

Fix tips

  • Move strike plate slightly (often 1–2mm is enough)
  • File/adjust strike opening if the latch is hitting the edge
  • Check door sag (hinges may need adjustment)
