AUSLOCK Passcodes Explained (How to Create, Edit & Manage PIN Codes)

Passcodes (PIN codes) let you unlock your AUSLOCK using the keypad — perfect for family, staff, cleaners, guests, or trades. In this guide you’ll learn the different code types and how to set them up in the AUSLOCK-supported app (TTLock ecosystem).

What is a passcode?

A passcode is a numeric PIN that unlocks the door from the keypad. Depending on your lock model and setup, you can create codes that are:

  • Permanent (always works until deleted)
  • Timed (works only within a start/end time window)
  • One-time (works once, then expires)
  • Recurring (works on specific days/times — if supported by your lock/app version)
Important: Code options vary by lock model, firmware and app version. If you don’t see a code type, update the app and confirm you’re using the admin account.

Before you create codes

  • Make sure the lock is added under the Admin account (owner).
  • Confirm the lock time/timezone is correct (critical for timed codes).
  • If you want to manage codes while you’re offsite, set up the Wi-Fi Gateway and enable Remote Unlock.

How to create a new passcode (PIN)

  1. Open the app and select your lock.
  2. Tap Passcodes (or Keyboard Password depending on wording).
  3. Tap Add (or the + button).
  4. Choose the code type:
    • Permanent (for family or staff)
    • Timed (for trades/guests)
    • One-time (for short visits)
  5. Enter a name (example: “Cleaner”, “Unit 2 Guest”, “Builder”).
  6. Create the passcode (either auto-generate or manually set, depending on your lock/app).
  7. Tap Confirm / Save.

How to edit or delete a passcode

  1. Open your lock in the app → go to Passcodes.
  2. Select the passcode you want to change.
  3. Choose Edit to change the schedule/name (if supported), or Delete to remove access.

Best practice (security + reliability)

  • Use unique codes per person (don’t share one “master” code across everyone).
  • Name each code so audit logs are easy to read later.
  • Use timed codes for guests and trades.
  • Review and clean up old codes monthly.

Troubleshooting (if the code doesn’t work)

  • Wrong time window: timed codes won’t work if lock time/timezone is incorrect.
  • Not synced: if you created the code offsite, you may need the gateway online for syncing (model dependent).
  • Keypad entry errors: enter the code cleanly; some locks require a final confirmation key (depends on model).
  • Low battery: replace batteries if keypad response is slow or inconsistent.
  • Admin permissions: only the Admin/owner can manage all codes.
