Child Safety: Prevent Kids from Opening an AUSLOCK Door from Inside

Mergim Hoxha |

Best solution: use a lock configuration that requires authorised access from both sides (model dependent).

If child safety is a priority, the goal is to prevent easy “free-exit” opening from inside without supervision.

Options that can help (depending on your AUSLOCK model)

  • Double-sided access: Requires a code/fingerprint/key/approved method from inside and outside.
  • Inside restriction modes: Some locks allow limited inside unlocking.
  • High mounting / secondary hardware: Consider a secondary latch higher up (where appropriate).

Important safety note

Always balance safety with emergency exit requirements. If this is for a childcare/commercial environment, confirm compliance requirements for your premises.

Tip: If you tell AUSLOCK your door type and use case (home vs childcare), we can recommend the right setup.
