Lock AUSLOCK from Inside Without the App (When Auto-Lock Is OFF)

Shane Bleakley |

If Auto-Lock is OFF, your non-app locking options may be limited (depending on model).

Some AUSLOCK models require Auto-Lock to be enabled for automatic locking. If you turn it off, you may need another method to lock without using the app.

Options to lock without the app

  • Enable Auto-Lock: Set a short delay (e.g. 3–10 seconds).
  • Use an AUSLOCK Remote (if supported): Lock/unlock with a button.
  • Use the internal lock mechanism: Some models have a thumbturn or internal lock action.

Recommended setting for most homes

Turn Auto-Lock ON with a short delay so the door locks reliably after closing.

Tip: Keep your door open while testing settings to avoid lockouts.
